Treatment of hydrocephalus in children and adults with endoscopy including endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV) with or without choroid plexus coagulation (CPC) has evolved significantly over the past 10 years with a markedly better understanding of risk and both short and long-term outcomes for ICP control and cognitive function. In this course, the speakers in an interactive format will discuss endoscopic treatment of hydrocephalus in adults and children with case examples and simulation if possible.

Learning Objectives:

Appreciate the basic aspects of endoscopic treatment for a patient with hydrocephalus
Be familiar with criteria to select patients with hydrocephalus that are appropriate for treatment with an endoscopic procedure
Discuss the potential complications, short-term and long-term outcomes possible with endoscopic treatment and understand how they differ from those associated with shunt treatment of hydrocephalus
