Description:

This session will allow the attendee to learn the latest practical knowledge about the short and long-term effects of COVID-19 infection on the nervous system, with a particular focus on how this affects the practice of the neurophysiologist (including Epileptologists, Neuromuscular specialists, and Neurophysiology Laboratories). The session will include a review of the current practice guidelines for Canadian Neurophysiology Laboratories during the COVID-19 pandemic and a discussion of possible areas for revision.

Learning Objectives:

  • Become aware of the current recommended practice guidelines in the neurophysiology laboratories
  • Learn how COVID infection can affect the nervous system
  • Appreciate the impact that COVID pandemic has had on the daily practice of neurophysiologists and clinicians
  • Identify potential avenues to improve practice and optimize services
