Description:

This course proposes to address the types of complications we tend to encounter in Neurosurgery, focusing on the major complications in various subspecialties in neurosurgery. These could be vascular neurosurgery, tumor surgery, spine surgery and pediatric Neurosurgery for example. To some extent the content will depend on the speakers. The plan is to invite senior and experienced speakers to share their negative experience and how they have dealt with them.

Learning Objectives:

  • Appreciate the major complications that can arise from various neurosurgical procedures with case examples
  • Learn to anticipate complications in Neurosurgery and be prepared to deal with them
  • Learn strategies to mtigate neurological damage due to intra operative complications
